Rising Temperatures Pose Threat to Koala Health, Study Finds

Editorial Staff · 1 min read

Research from the University of Sydney has identified a significant link between heat stress and the health of koalas, particularly as temperatures exceed 27 degrees Celsius.

This study, published in the journal Biology Letters, marks the first time an associative relationship between rising temperatures and koala mortality has been recognized.

The findings suggest that even moderate increases in temperature can result in a rise in hospital admissions for these vulnerable animals.
